Conception
VinnTerra fully renovated this 1977 home. We first took it down to the studs and then reworked the whole house. Upstairs, we added in a hallway laundry room, expanded the master bathroom for maximum comfort, and opened up the once divided kitchen, dining, and living room into one open-concept floor plan.
Downstairs, we created a self-contained legal suite with laundry area; two bedrooms; a large kitchen with an oversized island; and a separate living room area. We also opened up the back patio. Now, large windows and french doors lead onto the south-facing back yard.
Creation
The demolition stage began with a full hazardous materials testing survey. Turns out, the house was riddled with asbestos. As soon as the problem was professionally remediated, the house was ready for re-framing. Taking special note of the engineering specifications, our team created a masterful ease of flow in each area. That included creating returns and cavities for the separate mechanical requirements of each suite.
Completion
Final details included a refreshed private patio, new heat pump, new gas fireplace, custom kitchen, island with granite counters, new floors, and custom lighting. A feature wall in the master bedroom lends a certain je ne sais quoi, as did fine mill-work throughout.
